Exciting news for podcasters! Spotify has just rolled out its brand-new Partner Program, designed to help popular podcast hosts turn their video content into a source of extra income. Officially launched on Thursday, this initiative opens up new avenues for creators, allowing them to earn beyond traditional advertising revenue, with opportunities like video payouts.

Initially teased in November, the Partner Program is now available in key markets including the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia. The aim? To boost Spotify’s video podcast library and compete head-to-head with YouTube, the current heavyweight champion of the video space.

According to Spotify, more than 65% of eligible podcast shows have jumped on board since the announcement at their Now Playing event. Notable participants include popular titles like Smart Money Happy Hour, The Paranormal Podcast, The Makeshift Podcast, and Girls Rewatch Podcast.

But that’s not all! Spotify is also sweetening the deal for its Premium users, who can now enjoy video podcasts ad-free. Plus, they’ve introduced a nifty tool called Podcast Clips—short, snappy video snippets that creators can upload to promote their shows. This feature is designed to help listeners discover new content easily. Since its rollout in select markets last November, Spotify reports that these clips are an impressive 33% more effective than traditional previews at turning casual browsers into engaged listeners.

So, whether you’re a seasoned podcaster or just diving into the podcasting world, Spotify’s Partner Program is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your reach and revenue potential.
