6 Best WordPress Landing Page Plugins & Tools For 2020

If you want the most effective way to move your readers to action, you need dedicated landing pages.

You may have already taken the first step and started using a WordPress email subscription plugin.

But if you really want to boost your list building or sales efforts, you need landing pages.

Unfortunately, here’s the problem when it comes to WordPress and building landing pages:

The WordPress Editor is 100% incapable of creating highly converting landing pages. It just flat out can’t do it.

So if you want to actually create the kind of landing pages that move readers to click, to sign up, to buy…then you need a dedicated landing page tool to build them.

And that is exactly what I’ll discuss in this post. I’ll take you through the best WordPress landing page plugins on the market. Then, I’ll tell you the exact plugin you should pick for your specific situation.

What to look for in a WordPress landing page plugin

When looking for a landing page plugin, there are a few factors you’ll definitely want to keep in mind:

  • Elements – Elements, or modules, are the building block of any drag and drop builder. If you want your landing pages to be successful, you need to make sure the plugin has dedicated elements for things like lead gen boxes, calls to action, countdown timers, and more.
  • Templates – Creating landing pages from nothing is a time-consuming process. That’s why all these plugins include templates to help you get started. Before picking any landing page builder, you should make sure that the templates it offers actually fit your design style.
  • Deployment Time – Landing pages are great because they allow you to rapidly test changes. But that’s not true if your landing pages take too long to deploy. Always consider how long it takes to go from zero to live when picking a plugin.
  • A/B Testing – If you want to optimize your landing pages, you’ll definitely need the ability to A/B test them. Make sure that whichever plugin you pick either includes A/B testing or integrates with third-party A/B testing services.

The best WordPress landing page plugins for 2020

With that out of the way, let’s dive in and take a look at the six best WordPress landing page plugins.

1. Thrive Architect – Themed templates and content builder

Thrive Architect

Thrive Architect is a popular WordPress landing page plugin. It helps you build high converting landing pages in two ways:

  1. It includes a powerful visual editor, which lets you create landing pages from scratch using a visual, drag and drop page builder.
  2. It includes over 250 landing page templates so you don’t need to start building those landing pages from scratch. And if you want to change anything about a template, you can use the visual editor.

That’s cool, but here’s Thrive Architect’s claim to fame:

All those landing page templates are themed so you can easily move your readers through a consistent funnel. Conversion is about more than just the landing page – you also need effective confirmation and thank you pages to keep things moving. With Thrive Architect, the templates fit together so you can do that without any extra work.

The content editor that powers Thrive Architect is no slouch, either. Thrive Themes is always focused on conversions, so they’ve packed it with the elements that are necessary for great landing pages.

For example, Thrive Architect includes elements for lead gen boxes, countdown timers, testimonials, and more.

You can also save your own designs as templates – so if you ever need to reuse pages, they’re ready to go.

And the new Smart Landing Pages feature makes it easier than ever to customize your landing pages.

To round things out, all of Thrive Architect’ designs are responsive and optimized for page speed. Because page load speed has a major effect on conversion rate, this is an essential element of any good landing page plugin.

Price: Starts at $67 for a single site license. Or available as part of the $19/month Thrive Membership.

2. OptimizePress

OptimizePress 3.0 Page Builder

OptimizePress is a dedicated landing page plugin with a deep feature set.

It recently got a big facelift in the form of OptimizePress 3.0, which was launched in September 2019 and offers a huge upgrade over the previous version.

With the new version, you get a great full-screen visual drag-and-drop editing experience, along with a cloud-based template system and tons of conversion-focused design elements.

OptimizePress also includes more than just a landing page builder – you can build entire sales funnels using it’s funnel builder.

Finally, if you want to build more than just a few landing pages, you can use the OptimizePress SmartTheme to control the design for your entire site.

Price: Plans start from $99/year

3. Beaver Builder

Beaver Builder

Beaver Builder is a general WordPress page builder with enough power to create great looking WordPress landing pages.

The plugin comes with templates in a variety of  areas, including more than 30 landing page templates.

You can edit these landing pages or create pages from nothing using a smooth drag and drop page builder. The page builder works in the frontend, so you can build your landing page exactly as your visitors will see it.

Like Thrive Architect, Beaver Builder includes all the essential elements you need. You can quickly drop in testimonials, calls to action, lead gen boxes, and more.

Beaver Builder comes in both a theme and plugin version. But here’s one thing to consider:

To be able to create full-page landing pages, you’ll need to use the Beaver Builder theme. Otherwise, you’re limited to editing just a portion of the page with the plugin. That means you’ll usually be stuck with at least your default WordPress header (and possibly your sidebar), which isn’t great for creating a cohesive design.

This is by no means a deal-breaker – just something you need to be aware of.

There’s also a free, limited version of the plugin. But because this free version lacks essential elements like call to actions and opt-in forms, you really need to get the premium version to build landing pages.

Price: $99 for just the plugin. $199 for the plugin AND the theme. Both prices are for unlimited websites.

4. Elementor Pro

Elementor

Like Beaver Builder, Elementor Pro is another page builder with a focus on WordPress landing page design.

Why do I like Elementor? First off, its interface is an absolute breeze to use and it gives you pinpoint precision over each element on your landing page.

But not all WordPress page builders are good for landing pages. So what makes Elementor stand out from the crowd?

First off, it includes a huge array of pre-built landing page templates. While the Pro version has the most templates, even the free version includes some beautiful designs.

Next, it lets you visually build email opt-in forms right in the Elementor interface. No need to use another plugin! Currently API integrations for MailChimp, GetResponse, Drip, ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign and several others are supported.

And if you want to connect to a different service, you can use their Zapier integration to open up plenty of other possibilities.

But there’s still one potential kink – what if you want to create a truly dedicated landing page outside your WordPress theme’s template? No problem! With Elementor’s recently released Canvas feature, you can build true landing pages using a completely blank template no matter which theme you’re using.

While Elementor’s free version does include some landing page templates, you’re best off going with the Pro version for many more landing page templates, as well as that cool visual opt-in form element I mentioned. And without it, you won’t be able to add opt-in forms.

Update: Elementor Pro now includes a theme builder and popup feature.

Price: Elementor Pro starts at $49 for a single-site license.

5. Leadpages

Leadpages updated editor

Leadpages isn’t limited to WordPress, it’s a complete landing page creation platform. But, it includes a dedicated plugin that makes WordPress integration completely painless, so that’s why it gets a spot on this list.

If you want the absolute fastest way to create and deploy landing pages, Leadpages is the tool for you.

When you use one of their 100+ templates, all you need to do is plug in your information and you’re good to go. Those templates span webinars, checkout pages, pre-sale pages, upsell pages, opt-ins, and more.

Of course, if you want to tweak an existing template, that’s easy to do with their drag and drop visual editor.

Whenever you’re happy, you just click a button to send the landing page to WordPress via the plugin and you’re all set.

Leadpages can even handle hosting your landing page and digital assets, though this isn’t a requirement.

If you’re creating landing pages for multiple websites, you’ll save time by having them all easily accessible through a single Leadpages dashboard. No tabbing back and forth between different sites to make changes.

They also include integrated A/B testing in their higher-priced plans which makes optimization a breeze. But…you’re definitely going to pay for that convenience.

Even for its cheapest plan, Leadpages is still one of the most expensive options on this list. If you’re willing to pay the premium for quick deployment, centralized management, and integrated split-testing, it’s a great option. Otherwise, you may want to stick with one of the cheaper options.

Update: You can now build entire websites with Leadpages, and deploy “alert bar” style opt-ins & CTA’s.

Price: Starts at $15/month (paid annually). Cheapest plan that includes A/B testing is $48/month (paid annually).

6. Divi

Divi Page Builder Plugin

Divi is another popular visual WordPress page builder plugin that makes a great option for landing pages. That is, you’ll be able to easily build your landing pages using a simple drag-and-drop interface, all while seeing a live preview of your design.

One notable thing about Divi in comparison to
the other WordPress landing page plugins is the fact that it includes built-in
A/B testing. No other WordPress page builder offers built-in A/B testing
(though there are extensions that can add it to some of the other tools).

Beyond A/B testing, there are plenty of other
features to help you build landing pages. For example, Divi comes with its own
Email Optin module that includes 20+ integrations for popular services like
Mailchimp, HubSpot, SalesForce, and more.

You’ll also get other conversion-focused
modules like countdown timers, CTAs, testimonials, pricing tables, and more.

Your Divi designs are responsive by default,
which means they’ll work on all devices. You’ll also get lots of controls to
adjust your designs for different devices, which helps you create optimal
experiences for all visitors.

Finally, if you don’t want to build your
designs from scratch, Divi includes literally over 1,000 pre-built templates.
Now, not all of these templates are for landing pages, but you can find plenty
of landing page templates, and you’ll also have lots of options to build out
other pages on your site, as well.

Price: Available as part of the $89 Elegant Themes membership, which also gets
you access to all other Elegant Themes plugins (including Bloom for email opt-ins, which is a nice complement to your
landing pages
)

Which WordPress landing page plugin should you choose?

You definitely don’t need six different landing page plugins. To help you make your decision, here are some scenarios in which you’d want to pick one of these options over the others…

If you want the best value for your money, you should choose Thrive Architect or Elementor Pro. With Thrive Architect, you get 250+ themed templates AND a powerful page builder for one affordable price with lifetime updates – there’s also deep integration with Thrive Leads (a powerful lead generation plugin). With Elementor Pro, you get a smaller number of templates and less direct API integrations with email marketing services. But, you get their great theme builder feature.

If you want the absolute easiest tool to use, you should pay the premium for Leadpages. All of the tools on this list are fairly user-friendly. But when it comes to ease of use, nothing can beat Leadpages for rapid creation and deployment. That said, the new OptimizePress is a lot easier to use than most on this list.

If you want integrated A/B testing, you’ll need to pick either Leadpages or Divi. Of the two, Divi gets you access to A/B testing for a much lower price. Another option would be to use a third-party service like Google Optimize, which should integrate with any of these platforms.

However, Thrive Architect has an add-on called Thrive Optimize worth looking at because it’s very easy to use. This would be a lot more straightforward than using a service like Google Optimize.

If you want to be able to build pages other than landing pages, you should pick one of the page builder plugins – Beaver Builder, Divi, Thrive Architect, or Elementor Pro. Beaver Builder, Divi, and Elementor Pro all offer a theme builder feature, as well.

If you want to create sales funnels and other marketing pages, Thrive Architect has a lot of marketing focused templates which are great for entrepreneurs and course creators. Whereas, the new OptimizePress has less templates but it will eventually have a sales funnel and checkout page builder.

Leadpages is another option here if you want to build checkout pages for sales funnels but their checkout feature is only available on higher tier plans.

If you want a free option, you should pick the free version of Elementor. Just remember that you won’t get as many landing page templates, nor will you be able to use the opt-in form element.
